We are so happy to live and work in Marbella on the beautiful Costa del Sol. After eight years of living in the UK, a return to the sunny skies, amazing food and great lifestyle here in Spain has been a wonderful move. Although the summers are amazing, our favourite time of year is the autumn, when the temperatures drop and the crowds disappear and we’re left with stunning clear, sunny days, cooler nights and can park and get a table in the restaurants again.
Autumn is the time when you can enjoy sports again, as it’s cool enough to play them! The best sports for an autumn break have to be golf, padel tennis (a mix of squash and tennis), tennis and cycling. There are courses and camps you can join, or tournaments and races if you’re competitive. It’s also a great time to get out and explore the countryside on foot, horseback or on quads or buggies.
For those of you not constrained by the school holidays, the Autumn is a lovely time to visit, with lots of things going on, good weather, but significantly cheaper flights and hotels. If you’re flexible with your time, you can base your trip around an event, such as Marbella 4Days Walking 12-15th of October, where hundreds of people do daily 20 or 30 kilometre walks around Marbella, explore the area, meet new people and enjoy great activities and entertainment. Alternatively, you can pick an activity, or an area you want to explore and just look at the most cost effective time to come by browsing on Skyscanner. You can show a month or two month period and easily see when the cheapest flights are available, which can really save you a lot.
Another great way to save money while you’re away is to get some dental work done.
